Конспект урока английского языка по теме the Present Continuous Tense

Тип урока: урок изучения нового материала
Цель урока: создание условий для освоения учащимися настоящего длительного времени.
Задачи урока:
 учебные:
 определить, когда употребляется настоящее длительное время;
 вывести формулу настоящего длительного времени;
 тренировать настоящее длительное время в устных и письменных упражнениях
 совершенствовать навыки чтения, говорения;
 развивающие: развивать мышление, анализ, внимание, сопоставление, умение осуществлять рефлексивную деятельность;
 воспитательные: воспитывать уважительное отношение к мнению одноклассников в различных видах деятельности на уроке, содействовать повышению мотивации к изучению английского языка.
Формы работы: фронтальная, парная, групповая.
Методы: метод проблемного диалога, практический метод (упражнения), интерактивный метод (инсценировка), аудиовизуальный метод.
Оборудование и материалы: учебник, раздаточный материал, проектор, компьютер, экран.
Структура урока:
1. Организационный момент – 1 минута
2. Сообщение темы урока, совместное целеполагание – 1-2 минуты
3. Фонетическая зарядка – 3-4 минуты
4. Введение нового грамматического материала – 5 минут
5. Первичное закрепление изученного грамматического материала – 10 минут

7. Этап применения знаний – 10 минут
8. Подведение итогов, рефлексия – 3 минуты
9. Выставление оценок с комментарием – 2 минуты
10. Домашнее задание – 1 минута

1) Организационный момент
Good morning, boys and girls. I am glad to see you today.
Who is on duty today? Who is absent today?
What date is it today? What day is it today?
2) Сообщение темы урока, совместное целеполагание
Today we are going to study a new grammar tense, it is the Present Continuous Tense. (Slide 2)
How do you think what will we do to study it?
Right. And how will we do it?
Right you are, we will study it in oral and written exercises.
3) Фонетическая зарядка
And now let’s sing the song “Are you sleeping”. It will help us to pronounce the sound [i] right in our exercises.
Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?
Brother John? Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing,
Morning bells are ringing,
And now I’ll be a conductor and you will be my chorus.
The first row will sing the first line of the song. When the second row will sing the second line the first row will repeat the first line and so on. As a result each row will sing all the song after three changes of lines. Is it clear? Let’s try.

4) Введение нового грамматического материала
And now look at the screen.
Исходя из названия, давайте попробуем определить, когда употребляется это время.
 В каком времени происходит действие?
 Что действие делает в настоящем? (посмотрите на название)
 Следовательно, когда употребляется PresentContinuous?
Правильно. А теперь давайте рассмотрим, как оно строится. Для этого мы будем сравнивать настоящее длительное время с настоящим простым временем.
I go to school. I am going to school.
Что изменилось?
Верно. А в этом примере?
He swims. He is swimming.
Верно. Следующий пример.
They make tea. They are making tea.
Вы правы. Последний пример.
We lie on the grass. We are lying on the grass. (Slide 3)
Итак, как мы можем образовать настоящее длительное время? (Slide 4)
5) Первичное закрепление изученного грамматического материала
Task 1. Add ing to the verbs.
If we want to make the Present Continuous Tense correctly our first task is to add the suffix ing to 6 verbs. Don’t forget about spelling rules.
Do, chat, die, play, ride, help.
And now let’s go to the blackboard and we’ll check your variants. Who thinks he has got problems with the task? You will go to the blackboard and we’ll try to manage it. (Slide 5)
Answers: doing, chatting, dying, playing, riding, helping.
Task 2. Fill in the gaps.
Open your books p. 31, ex.4. Paul made photos of his classmates for the exhibitions but he lost captions he had made. We’ll help him. You will work in pairs. One of you will translate the sentence, the other will fill in the verb, then you will change.
1) Jane …a mystery story.
2) Bill and his granddad … in the lake.
3) Sue … the violin at the concert.
4) Mike …a bike in the park.
5) I … my pet dog.
6) Kathy … a new computer game.
7) Our classmates … on the farm.

Task 3.Put verbs into Present Continuous.
This task is on our handout. Paul won the 1st prize for his photos and he decided to draw something. Here are some pictures. You are to describe the pictures putting the verbs in brackets into Present Continuous. We will do this task orally. But we will have a rule: one pupil answers and the other one agrees or disagrees with him and then correct. Who didn’t understand? Let’s start.
1. (walk) – Girls are talking.
2. (sing) – They are singing. (Slide 7)
3. (open the window) – She is opening the window.
4. (talk) – They are talking. (Slide 8)
Well done and now we are going to make a dynamic pause. Today Sasha will be your teacher. Listen and repeat after her. (Slide 9)

Task 1.Unscramble the sentences.
Paul wants to be a journalist and he made captions to pictures but suddenly he mixed everything up. And captions were of different colours. Will we help him? You will work in pairs to make up his sentences. Those of you who will make all three ones should raise their hands. Are you ready? Let’s go.
Card 1 (yellow is a simple one) (Slide 10)

Task 2. Speaking “What is Paul doing?”
Look at ex. 5 p. 31. Here is the plan what Paul and Steve are doing at the proper time during the week. We are to describe their week using Present Continuous. Let’s look the example: It’s 6 o’clock on Monday. Paul is flying a kite. Paul and Steve are flying a kite. (Slide 13)
Is the task clear? Let’s start from Monday.
It’s 6 o’clock on Monday.
It’s 6 o’clock on Tuesday.
It’s 6 o’clock on Wednesday.
It’s 4 o’clock on Thursday.
It’s 5 o’clock on Friday.
It’s 2 o’clock on Saturday.

Tuesday Help granddad in the garden 5-7pm
Wednesday Watch video with Mike 7-8pm
Thursday Play computer at the club 4-5pm
Friday Repair Steve’s bike 4-6pm

Task 3.Dramatizing.(Slide 14)
And now the last task for today. You will work in a group of four. I will give you cards with verbs and you make situation with the help of these words. Everyone will say his sentence in Present Continuous and show it. Before showing your situation you will stand still showing your action. Is the task clear? Here are the situations.
Situation 1 “In the living room” (watch TV, listen to music, read the book, play computer games)
Situation 2. “In the kitchen” (eat a sandwich, drink tea, feed my dog, cook dinner )
Situation 3. “Math’s lesson” (read, write, count, make a plane)
Situation 4 “PE lesson” (run, jump, play football, play basketball)
Situation 5. “At the disco” (dance, stand, drink coke, jump)
Situation 6. “At the beach” (swim, lie in the sun, look for sea shells, take photos)
Now let’s watch what you have done.
